I won't be able to come to the Memorial Service because of a previous commitment, but did I want to extend my sympathy to Martha's family and friends. She and Dave were both dear friends of mine. Their lights may have gone out in our world, but their influence and presence remains in our hearts, and we are the greatly better for their time with us. Godspeed, Amen.

Rev. Munson was just what we needed at First UU Syracuse, at just the right time. Her patience, compassion, and even-handedness kept the congregation together and we were able to start on a path of healing, after a time of severe brokenness. I will always, always be grateful for the two years that she spent with us. Martha, your skills as a minister carried us to a better place. May you rest in peace.

Martha told us at First Universalist Church in Rochester that it is more important how we live our lives than what we believe. That has stuck with me.

My deepest condolences to Martha's family. Martha served as interim minister to my church (UUCNH) during a difficult transition for our congregation, and, as it turned out, for me personally. She made it a point to keep reaching out to me during a very dark time, and helped me find my spirituality again when I was feeling truly lost - which set me on the road of healing. I am certain she helped many others as she did me and our congregation; her passing is sad news and I am so sorry for your loss.
